Seed Grant Proposals
2025-26 Seed Grant Announcements
The Science and Technology EDucation and TRAINing (STEDTRAIN) Committee is pleased to announce the continuation of its Seed Grant Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Program for K-12 schools (State approved public, individual, or home schooled groups) in Jackson, Madison, Marshall, Morgan, and Limestone Counties in Alabama and Lincoln County in Tennessee for the 2025-26 school year.
For the 2025-26 school year, the STEDTRAIN Program includes a more challenging class of grants, called Type II Enhanced Seed Grants, that may qualify for awards of $1500 to $2500. The program also retains the original Type I Seed Grants that range of $200 to $1000. A teacher may apply for both a Type I and a Type II Seed Grant, but only one of the two classes of grants will be awarded to a successful applicant.
Proposals for Seed Grants must be submitted online through this website.
The deadline for submission is 11:59:59 PM (midnight), April 1, 2025. The school principal must approve the Seed Grant proposal by midnight, April 3, 2025. Late submissions and approvals will not be accepted. We expect to announce Seed Grant awards on or about Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Please check our website for other important dates and information about submitting a proposal.

You can download and import the STEDTRAIN calendar for 2025-26 into your favorite calendar program by using the links below. The comma separated variable (CSV) format works well with most calendars, and is the preferred method of importing the calendar into Microsoft Outlook. The iCalendar (ICS) is supposed to be an Internet standard, but Microsoft Outlook doesn't handle this type very well.
